I tried this one. Here is what happened to mine. The edges were crusty, the center flat and the inside not done completely
Any tips for my next baking attempt?

Hi CK,
Sorry to hear that your cake did not come out well. Temperatures sometimes vary from oven to oven. You might try reducing the oven teperature and increasing the time a little bit. Also, baking is a science unlike other types of cooking. Make sure to use the exact measurements in the recipe.
Good Luck!

Hi Vaibhavi,
The oven is pre-heated at 350 degrees Fahrenheit (approx 180 degrees Celsius) and then the cake is baked at the same temperature for about 30 minutes.
Hope that helps and happy baking

Hello ladies,
I used this recipe for baking a birthday cake for my 2 year old Grandson who cannot tolerate eggs. I found it very easy to make…and I baked it on the lower shelf of my Aga oven for 45 minutes with baking parchment covering the top to prevent burning. The results were really good. The whole family was delighted and couldn’t believe that the cake did not contain eggs.
Thankyou,
Carol.
