Capsicum Fry

Ingredients:

2 big Capsicum cut into strips
1 1/4 tsp Coriander pwd
1/2 tsp Cumin pwd
2 tbsp Oil
1 big Onion cut lengthwise
1 tsp Red Chilli pwd
2 tbsp Roasted Peanut coarse pwd
1 tsp Salt to taste
1/2 tsp Sugar
1/2 tsp Turmeric

Method:

1.Heat oil in a kadai.
2.Once hot add capsicum slices, fry for couple of mins.
3. Then add onion slices, fry for till they become translucent.
4. Add all the masalas. Fry for 2mins, then add about 1/4cup of water and mix.
5. Cover and cook for about 5mins.
6. Your yummy capsicum is ready.
7. You can alter the taste of salt, sugar and r.chiili according to your taste. I like it hot! Serve hot with Chapatis.

  1. OK I have tried this. Although I love roasted peanuts I found this dish really much sweeter than anything I am used to. I guess it might appeal to children.

  4. dear madame Ijust happened to see urtips@show methe curry.com I liked ithe tips were very useful not only for a beginer, but also for , a well trained person . thank u once again,, here is a tip, the microwave is a boon for cooking of today, ;; ifry chillies , dayana, groundnuts, cashews also the aroma that emits while frying wah too good, u just have to manage the mins, it is all well done esp the chillies and dayana for sambar powders thank u bye Mrs. bharathi

  5. Hi Working Mom:
    Toamtoes would make this dish soggy so I would avoid adding them. If you are very keen, our suggestion would be to deseed the tomatoes and then add them so they don’t make the rest of the dish mushy.
