    1. Hi Sonal,
Whipped topping is basically Heavy Whipping Cream that is already whipped with sugar in it. You can easily make it at home.
      Hope that helps!

  4. Hello ladies,
Just wanted to say how successful this recipe was. I made 6 large trays of this for a party we had at home and everybody loved it! Thank you. On the rare occasion that we go out for dessert, frozen yogurt has become a favorite. However, being a vegetarian, the question arises about whether or not gelatin is used in these yogurts. Tried researching with no success. Please help. Thx much.

  6. Hi Anuja and Hetal,

do you know if i can add Jalebis pieces or other Indien sweet pieces in this ice cream?
    Thankร‚ยดs for your answer

    1. Hi Reni,

hmmm….we have not tried it, but we don’t see any reason that you can’t. It will give a nice surprise texture to the ice cream.

    1. Hi Glam Princess,

Sorry, we don’t understand the Q – are you trying to say, why there is milk or why there is no milk?
We have added Condensed milk to the recipe…

  8. Hi ..

Thanks you for this lovely recipe.

I tried this ..come out so nice I want to try some more recipes from this website.

  9. Hi Hetal and Anuja,
Love your website. I had blended milk and mango pulp in a blender and frozen them in ice trays(the way my mom used to make mango shake and freeze back in India). The mango ice cubes were slightly bitter the next day, any idea why?
I remember my mom used to make that for hot summers using fresh mango and milk and we used to love those.

Have you tried making PineApple ice cream this way? I am a big Pineapple and Mango Fan and its hard to find mango or pineapple squash or ice creams in US, the way we get in India. Could you share some pineapple ice cream or squash recipe?

  10. Ladies, I love your recipes. You have been an inspiration! Mango Ice cream was the first recipe I tried and have been making it ever since.

  11. Hi Anuja and Hetal,
Just wanted to do a follow up on making avocado ice cream using this recipe. I used 5 riped avocados. When I put in blender added a little bit of milk (just to help it blend)a squeeze of lemon juice ( to keep color)the condense milk (to your taste)and some of cool whip. Then followed rest of the recipe. It came out GREAT! It tasted better than store bought. I am going to try this recipe to make green tea. Will let you all know how came out.

    1. Hi Sadlyboring,

Wow! What a great idea…never thought of avocado ice cream. Thanks for sharing. I am also looking forward to your trial of the green tea version. I love green tea ice cream!

  12. I made this ice cream w real mangos, I used 5 big ones and pureed them. It made almost or a little above 32oz. It is better than store bought.
Have a question, can I use this recipe to make avocado, and green tea ice cream? If not I hope you come up with an easy recipe for these 2 also. Love watching and learning to make indian food.

    1. Hi Reddy,

Regular Cool Whip works great in both recipes. We just happen to have the extra creamy version but the regular version works just fine.

  13. Just made this Ice Cream and it’s delicious…..couldn’t find 30oz cans of mango pulp but i found and used two 15oz cans of mango slices and blended it to pulp….so I also made strawberry, and peach…..and they all are delicious!!!!…..took the all out and added fruit squares to them and put it back in the freezer…….texture, color, and taste is all superb……just waiting for it to harden in the middle, so i can serve it on cones………..

  14. Hello Ladies….Thank you for a wonderful and easy to make recipe…I can’t wait to make it…..I have a question. I want to make this ice cream in a larger quantity…I have a 2 1/2 gallon bucket that I want to use…so even if i use this recipe and make it several times….when my bucket is full…..do you think it would freeze properly? and how long would it take to freeze…a day or two maybe…..I have a deep chest freezer that i will use….thank you in advance for your anticipated response….P.S.do you have anymore ice cream recipies……..have a great day…….Aunt Wanda

    1. Hi Aunt Wanda,

The ice cream will freeze…eventually. We have not tried that large of a quantity so unfortunately, we don’t have an exact time. Just a tip…keep mixing the ice cream every few hours (if you can). It will help to freeze it evenly.

  15. Hello Ladies,

If in case you dont find Whipped topping anywhere, You can whip the non-dairy whipped cream to whipped topping jus like the ones you buy..!!
All you need to do is:
Dissolve 1/2tsp unflavored gelatin in 1tbsp cold water. Beat 1 cup of whipping cream till it becomes a little thick. And then add in the gelatin mixture..!! It works only if done in a COLD BOWL..!!

    Happy Cooking…!!

And Thanks for the awesome recipe.. ๐Ÿ˜€

  16. i tried this its really nice it came out well thanks

i have a question, can we beat this with a beater..is it going to change anything..bcoz some of my friends suggest that

    thank u

    1. Hi Sudha,

If you do it gently, maybe. The main thing is that you don’t want the whipped cream to be over-beaten…else it will fall flat.

  17. Thanks for the wonderful mango icecream recipe!! Served it to our friends last day and they all loved it:-) Keep posting such easy and quick recipes!!
    Thanks again..

  18. Hi Hetal/Anuja,

Thank you for the videos – they are so helpful :).

I have a quick question about the ice cream ingredients – I tried out the mango ice cream and the texture of the ice cream was great but it turned out super duper sweet. I am not sure if I am missing something here but all ingredients used in this ice cream (mango pulp, sweetened condensed milk and whipped topping) are sweet making the ice cream really sweet. Is there anything I can do to reduce the sweetness to almost half the current sweetness.

    Thanks!

    1. Hi Payal,

Unfortunately, canned mango pulp has added sugar. If you use fresh mangoes and blend them yourself, the sweetness will probably be correct for you.

  19. I tried it with whipped cream (since I don’t like Cool Whip) and it came out perfect. I was amazed by the texture. It also has that deep mango flavour, which I love so much. Anuja was right when she said that you can taste more mango flavour compared to mango ice cream you buy from the grocery. I don’t have to buy mango ice cream from the store, I can make it now. Thank you both so much. This recipe is the best!
