  1. Hi Hetal, this might reach you a bit too late (Daliya is cooking as we speak ). never made this before .does this swell like rice ? what is it exactly ?

  2. Oh my God! this is so awesome and so delicious…
I must say that your recipes are not only easy to make at home but also tastes awesome. Keep up the good work gals and keep giving us lot more delicious recipes 🙂

    1. Also I forgot to add that I am 4 months pregnant and keep looking for new nutritious and delicious dishes. Your website has helped me a lot 🙂 God bless you!!!

  3. Hey Hetal & Anuja,
Your recipes are great. It would be nice if you could post a recipe for cracked wheat/wheat kheer as well.

  4. Hello,

Thanks a bunch for this recipe. I am going to try this tomorrow for lunch :).

Do we use the same method (to boil cracked wheat with water) to make kansar? And in the end add powdered sugar and ghee?

    I appreciate your response.

    1. Yes, you can follow the same method but you can add a little ghee and sugar to the water. You can add additional ghee and powdered sugar on top while serving.

    1. Sorry Shais, we missed your question.

We have not used this type of wheat before but it should work just fine. If you need to soak in water before using, you may want to try to soak it in broth for additional flavor. And, if you do try it out, please let us know your feedback…it will help others as well. Thanks.

  5. Hi Anuja n Hetal,

I tried your recipe and it was really good.My hubby never liked daliya. But after trying out this, he has started having it. Appreciate your perfect measurements 🙂

    1. Hi Bhavna,
      So sorry about that!

Honestly, we have never made it with Oats (but it is excellent with Cous Cous and Quinoa). Let us know if you do try it, it will be interesting to know.

    1. Hi Lavi,

Couscous is very easy to prepare. Use a 1 to 2 ratio (couscous to water). Boil water in a pan with lid. Once the water boils, turn off the stove, add in the couscous and a bit of salt, stir, cover and keep for 15 minutes. Open and fluff up with a fork. Add remaining ingredients.

  6. Hello girls,

Tried this just now and could not wait to eat and post comment. Just finished eating in one go and now typing…I have never had such daliya delight. It is healthy and tasty both…a rare combination though!!!

I changed the original recipe a bit. I used couscous instead of daliya and added a bit of roasted cashews and walnuts and sultana raisins along with almonds and pine nuts. I added green peas and sweetcorn too to it. It is out of this world now. Best salad till date I would rather say.

Will be in my take along lunch menu for me and my hubby as it very filling too. No problem untill evening and hence no snacking in between and stacking our tummys with rubbish crisps.

NO WORDS NOT EVEN THANX, TOO CONTENTED TO SPEAK NOW 😉

    1. Hi Shivani,

Yes, you can definitely use plain water instead of broth. You will lose out on some of the depth of flavor that the broth will bring to the recipe, but it will still work fine.

        1. Hi Ami,

It’s basically the same except that the texture of the cracked wheat for kausar is much finer (similar to sooji). This type of cracked wheat is used to make faadaa lapsi.

  7. Hey gals, As usual, the first thing i don daily is to check out ur site for your latest creation… Thanks a lot.

Anuja, Missed your usual bubbliness today. You sound a little down. Love your smile a lot. 🙂

    Love,
    J
