For all those of you who are not thrilled about eating a sugary sweet breakfast, Mushrooms on Toast could be your new morning thing! In this recipe, mushrooms, onions and bell peppers are lightly stir-fried as a savory topping for toast. Start the day with a bang with this easy and great make-ahead breakfast recipe.
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Serves: 4-6
Ingredients:
Oil – 1 Tbsp

Salt – to taste

Hi Hetal and Anuja
Is it possible to show the calorie values for your recipes? Asking for too much I know….but I am really desperate in counting my calories now (and may be forever)

I think you can find out the number of calories in this by figuring out the calories in EACH ingredient!
I hope it helped!

Ladies, I’m delighted to find your fantastic website.
I’ve always wondered HOW to use curry leaves and it is helpful to actually see you prepare food and explain
ingredients.
Thanks for your work & efforts.

If its the filling, same thing can be done with sprouts.
This is good.
In case if anybody interested in sandwich with good filling:
Any kind of vegetable (carrots, potato, even green squash, beans, methi, spinach)
fry onion, and add all the partially cooked vegetables above
cook green the sprouts–> green mung, red mung, masoor, peas)
and add it to the above mixture.
Spices: chilli powder, jeera powder, garam masala
+ salt

I came to see if there were any new simple sweet recipes for Diwali but looks like toast is your last video so far. It would have been nice to see some sweets during this time of the year. Anyway, happy Diwali to you both.

Love this! I like to add a little protein so I spread some all natural peanut butter on the toast first. The spice combined with the nutty flavor is wonderful!!!!
Thanks for another great one! I love your website and your videos!
Happy Diwali!

This has become my husband’s favorite sandwich! I put this mushroom filling along with some cheese and make toasted sandwiches. They are great to take on trips. The cheese makes it a bit more filling and helps to bind everything together.
Thanks for the recipe girls!

My mom and I love the recipes that you guys post! And we love making the food too! I had a question about mushrooms. How do you select mushrooms? I always want to buy mushrooms at the store, but I have no idea how to select them. If you could tell me how to select mushrooms, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

Hi Rijutha,
When buying mushrooms, pick ones that are very white with no bruises. Also, if you look under the cap, the ones that are sealed (you cannot see the black/brown ridges) are the freshest. Even if you see the ridges, its okay, but the lighter the color of the ridges, the fresher the mushroom.
