Where did the idea of baking biryani come up? Is it done in a region of India?

Hi Fatma,
Traditionally, the ingredients are 3/4th cooked and layered. The cover to the pot is then sealed with a ring of dough and cooked the remaining time. In our modern times, we use an oven to get a similar effect.

You didnt mention how many servings your recipe has. Also, are the measurements according to a measuring cup and measuring spoon (the ones used for baking)?
