You’d know that Miley Cyrus is the hottest ticket in town if you have a young daughter. My daughter is a huge fan of “Hannah Montana” and was really excited to go see the 3-D movie of her concert. As you probably heard, in December, there was a live concert by Miley Cyrus in Dallas. It sold out in minutes and the tickets were being sold by scalpers for ridiculous amounts of money. Some parents paid as much as $1,500 for a single ticket. I had made up my mind that I would not pay a penny over the retail price of the ticket. Obviously, I did not get to take my daughter to the show. The Hannah Montana concert was absolutely the most wanted concert among tweens all over the US. Many radio stations were running contests making parents do ridiculous things to win tickets for their kids.

I bet Miley’s dad, country singer Billy Ray never imagined even in his wildest dreams that his daughter would become such a phenomenon. Starring as “Hannah Montana” in the Disney Channel show by the same name changed her life forever. When she originally auditioned with Disney, she did not get the part because the studio executives felt she was too little. Miley was persistent and really won the studio execs over with her smile and her enthusiasm.
When she was born, her parents had named her as Destiny Hope because they truly believed she would accomplish great things in her life. She got the nickname Miley because she was always smiling. Not only is she a good actress, she is also a very talented musician and singer. I guess she really does have “the best of both worlds!”.
My daughter loved the 3-D movie and cannot stop talking about it. This is a great option for those parents who didn’t get to take their daughters to the live concert. I paid about $15 each for the tickets and in some cities it was even cheaper. Initially, my daughter was very upset that I did not take her to the live concert. I explained to her that with a live concert, unless you are sitting in the front few rows, you only see Hannah about one inch tall. And you end up watching her on the big monitors anyway. Instead, we got to watch her in the theater in 3-D, up close and personal. You can’t beat that!
