Thank you Michelle and Qwan for your inputs. We also do NOT use MSG in our cooking. This was a viewer submitted recipe.

With due respect to you qwan.
I completely agree with you that MSG is not the
best thing to add to your food and btw MSG is a flavour enhancer.
You said tha ajinamoto has nothing to do with taste and yet
say that it will make cowdung taste good...???
But i too do no recomend that it be used in food casue a dish
can taste just as good without it.
people can use what they want in their food and u
have a choice to use or not to use it when u r making it.
Its not nice to insult someone and say that just because
they used that ingredient it does not make them good cooks.
Half ofthe stuff we buy from the sumarkets have MSG in it from
Chips to sauces and the like..we just choose not to buy them.

ajinomoto is an excitotoxin, it has nothing to do with taste.
When you consume it, ajinomot goes to your brain and excites it, your brain then reacts to it like it reacts to a drug and makes you eat more of what you were eating.
MSG can make cowdung taste good.
This is where I leave your website and write in my own blog about this.
MSG was invented in 1930's and was commercially available in japan in 1940 and more than a decade later in China. So are you trying to tell me that chinese did not eat tasty food before 1950. Or does authentic chinese food mean food after 1950.
MSG has been proved to cause many diseases from obesity, heart problem to migraines and cancer.

A very own indian mainstream link(if you think that people on the internet warning us about poisons in the food are just a bunch of crazy paranoids)
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Street_Chinese_food_causes_cancer_Study/articleshow/2663459.cms
This shows a research that confirms MSG link to stomach cancer.
I know of a person who used to run a fast food joint and uses msg "in very small quantities" like he told because he too eats both his meals in his restaurant, but I was not convinced. I am glad I was not cause once i got to his restaurant and see his wife there and she tells me he is in hospital for stomach operation for "some strange kind of ulcer".
BTW if you call your self chefs you should know that the manchurian dish was invented in India without ajinomoto. Ajinomoto was used in chinese food for the first time in America as those idiots dont know to cook.
My friend aunt is chinese and she does not use ajinomoto. I still remember he was the first person i had seen around 20 years ago who would ask chinese restaurants not put msg. That time there was not internet too and never heard of it. Suprisising there was on chinese restaurant who was an actual chinese who replied saying he never uses ajinomot.
Real cooks do not use ajinomoto, period.
